Simply Theatre is far from amateur!
We are Woking’s top-class community theatre company and perform our shows at the Rhoda McGaw Theatre, Woking, and Buzz Theatre, Woking, all of which are produced to the absolute highest standard.
Simply Theatre aims to create memorable, stirring shows and to give talented performers their chance to shine. New members are welcomed with open arms and whether you are a beginner or highly experienced doesn't matter, just join in to have some fun – all we ask is that you are dedicated and have a sense of humour!

Auditions will take place for our 2024 shows on Sunday 12th November at Lancaster Hall, Send Road Send.
Come along and Register from 9,45am and have a go.
If you want to audition for ANY part in Toxic Avenger or for the parts of Charlie, Lola, Nicola, Lauren, Pat, Trish, George, Don, Harry or an Angel you will need to also book a principal slot.

Part Descriptions for Kinky Boots
CHARLIE PRICE - Strong actor and singer, Playing age 25-30. Charlie who was planning to strike out on his own, reluctantly inherits the family shoe business. Confused about his future, dealing with with uncertain feelings about his girlfriend, his new life and how to deal with the business, and how to take his workforce with him, With Lola’s help he finds his way through the turbulence of emotions to find a way to success.
LOLA/SIMON - Strong Actor, Dancer and Singer. Playing age 25-35 Black/POC preferred. A drag queen with sass and a heart. The headliner at the Blue Angels Nightclub. Also appears dressed as a man. Persuaded by Charlie to join him as a designer in saving the factory. Takes on an emotional journey himself.
NICOLA - Strong Actor and Singer. Confident young woman, playing age 22-28. She is Charlie’s strong minded and confident real estate girlfriend. Very ambitious and driven to move on to bigger and better things.
HARRY - Strong Singer and Actor. a successful businessman and band frontman. Charlie’s childhood friend and headstrong in comparison to Charlie. (Also in Ensemble) Playing Age 25-30
THE ANGELS -Drag performers from the Blue Angel Nightclub. Must be strong Dancers and Singers Always appear in Drag - Featured role for Referee. Playing Age 20-40
MR PRICE (Sir)- Charlie’s Father committed to the family business, sincere and hard working, playing Age 50-65 (Also in Ensemble)
YOUNG CHARLIE - Charlie approx playing age 7-12, opening only - sings with Mr Price
YOUNG LOLA - LOLA approx playing age 10-14, black , POC, opening only, sings Solo
The FACTORY WORKERS
LAUREN - Strong Actor particularly must have great comedy timing and Singer. Factory worker, Playing age 22-28. Becomes Charlie’s right hand girl and eventually realises he’s the one for her ! A bit cookie and edgy!
DON - Strong Actor and Singer Playing Age 25-40. A masculine factory worker, stuck in his ways, with traditional views until his eyes are well and truly opened. Unable to accept Lola and always challenging - comes good in the end.
PAT - Strong Actress and Singer. The factory office manager with a bit of a wild side. Playing Age 30-55,
TRISH - Strong Actress and Singer, a factory worker with a husband and kids and a big personality. Playing Age 30-45
GEORGE - Strong Singer and Actor. The factory manager. Solid, hard working and friendly. Playing Age 40-60
There are also a number of other smaller speaking and singing roles - e.g. Richard Bailey - property developer, Simon Snr - Lola’s Father, Milan Stage Manager, Feat singing Factory workers, Members of Harry’s Band, and Ensemble of factory workers, pub patrons, Milan fashion show audience etc etc.
Part Descriptions for Toxic Avenger
Melvin Ferd The Third/Toxic Avenger: Always trying to be the hero, but he isn't very good at it until he is turned into the Toxic Avenger. Determined to save New Jersey from toxic waste. He is a nerd but prone to bouts of rage in the face of corruption. Starts as a rather unattractive but sensitive geek, in love with Sarah. Playing Age: 24 to 32. Gender: Male
Sarah The Blind Librarian: The classic heroine. Very sexy and sensual. Always speaks exactly what's on her mind. An aspiring writer of graphic romance novels. Strong Comedy actress and Singer. Playing Age: 20 to 28. Gender: Female
Mayor Babs Belgoody / Ma Ferd / Nun: As the Mayor, she is corrupt and scheming. Accepts loads of cash in return for storing the toxic waste. Set on one day being the governor of New Jersey by any means necessary. Ma Fred, Melvin’s mother, generally rather disappointed in her son. Playing Age: 30 to 55. Gender: Female
White Dude: Appears as numerous supporting roles, both male and female, such as DR. FISHBEIN, BOZO the bully, SAL the cop, and LORENZO the hairdresser. Physically versatile with strong dialects. Strong Singing, Movement and Comedy Multi role Acting is a must. Playing Age: 20 to 50. Gender: Any
Black Dude: Appears as numerous supporting roles, both male and female, such as PROFESSOR KEN, SLUGGO the bully, LITTLE OLD LADY, and SHINEQUA the friend. Physically versatile with strong dialects. Strong Singing, Movement and Comedy Multi role Acting is a must. Playing Age: 20 to 50. Gender Any
