Charlie, who was about to head off to a new life in London with his upwardly mobile fiance Nicola, reluctantly and unexpectedly inherits his ailing family owned shoe factory in Northampton.
In an effort to avoid complete closure, Charlie forms an unlikely partnership with drag queen Lola to produce a line of high heeled boots to save the business. In the process, Charlie and Lola discover that they are not so different after all.
