Meet the Simply Theatre Team

Co-Founders Alison Lawrence and Nicole Connell

Alison and Nicole met in 2006 and after a night out, chatting about the shows they wanted to produce, realised they could team up and make these productions a reality!

They kicked off their first production together ‘The Hot Mikado’ in 2008, and since then they have produced 13 main productions, an Edinburgh Fringe Festival production, and came runners up at Woking Drama Festival, the biggest One-Act Drama Festival in the Country!

Alison has directed nearly all of the Simply Theatre shows, including; Sister Act, Rent, Sweeney Todd and most recently 9 to 5.

Nicole can mostly be found onstage, her most recently role was as Ruth in Alan Ayckbourn’s ‘Round and Round the Garden’. However, she can also be found behind her laptop helping out with all things admin for the productions.

Together Alison and Nicole make a great team and with the help of the Simply Family, still continue to amaze each other with the scale of the productions produced each year.
